Mary Alice McGinnis, 97, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on December 11, 2009.
Alice was born February 10, 1912 in Casey, Iowa to William Edward Grant and Emma Gertrude Mulcahy Grant. Alice was one of nine children and the last surviving of her siblings. She married Leo Harold McGinnis on April 30, 1935 and moved to California in 1941 and then to Phoenix in 1978.
Alice enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing cards, bingo, cooking and sewing.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Leo, in 1990, and daughter, Mary Theresa Garcia, in 2009.
She is survived by four daughters, Margie McGinnis, Patty Chittenden, Kathleen McGinnis and Rose Hermanowski; five sons, Bernie, Leo, John, Danny and Tom; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday 5-8 p.m. at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Friday, December 18, 2009 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church 8620 N. 7th St Phx, AZ. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. Arrangements by A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary 710 W. Bethany Home Rd Phx, AZ.
