Calvin passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was 58 years old. Calvin was born the 6th of 9 children in Bay City, MI on March 01, 1957 to Raymond Donald LaForest and Pauline Edna (Wood) LaForest Turner. Calvin went to John Glenn High School and then went on to serve his country in the United States Marines. He enjoyed and treasured the times he spent with his grandchildren and his cat Pinky as well as riding his motorcycle, he was an excellent carpenter and could build most anything.
He is survived by his father; Raymond LaForest of Essexville, MI, his siblings; Linda Ann and husband Jackie Brandhurst of Indiana, Mary Theresa LaForest of Ontario, Canada, his sister-in-law; Lee Ann Kordelski LaForest of LasVegas, Gerald Paul LaForest of MI, John Henry LaForest and his wife Barbara (Alamanteoff) LaForest of Greenville, WI, Jesse LaForest and his wife Kimberly Albach LaForest of Bay City, MI, Deborah Marie and her husband Lynn Harper of New York and Gina Marie LaForest of Essexville, MI and well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son Matthew LaForest, his mother; Pauline Edna (Wood) Turner and her husband Ronald Kingsley Turner of Chesterville Ontario Canada, his step mother; Calista (Spencer) Coyer LaForest of Bay City, MI and his brother; Gregory LaForest of LasVegas.
Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik under the auspices of the United States Marines and the Bay County Veterans Council with private Inurnement in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin, Michigan. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday to receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 4:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to “The Wishes of the Family”
