The daughter of Parsons and Auralia (White) Wetmore, Auralia was born in Whitesboro, New York.
Auralia married her deceased sister's widower, Dyer Fitch, on 22 September 1819. She was the mother of six children and the stepmother of five, one of whom was also her nephew.
Her biological children were Mary Elisabeth, Charles DeWitt, George Clinton, Mariah Louisa, Elisha Parsons, and Samuel Augustus. Her step-children by Dyar and his first wife, Hannah Hadassah Hicock, were Chester Hicock, Philonso Skipio, Nancy Sophina, and Harriet Alvina. Her stepson (and nephew) by Dyer's second wife and Auralia's sister, Betsy, was Dyer Wetmore.
