1973 & 1974 World 125cc GP Motorcycle Champion. Born in Landvetter, Sweden, Anderson (frequently mis-spelt with a double 'S') made his grand prix debut in the 1966 Spanish GP at Montjuich finishing an astonishing 4th on his home-built Husqvarna, especially after being in the sport for only two years. By the end of the year he had been to Japan to buy one of the new 250cc Yamahas. Such was the expense of racing for 1967 he stayed home in Sweden and won the Swedish 250cc title. It was back to GPs in 1968 with a 3rd place at the German GP. In 1969 he came second in the World 250cc Championship on a self-prepared Yamaha TD2 production racer, with two GP wins. For 1970 he came 3rd and 4th in the World 250cc & 350cc Championships before moving to and developing the 125cc racer. He came second in 1972 and finally won the titles in 1973 & 1974. In finally retired from GP racing in 1976, but still kept his interest in motorcycle racing by attending numerous classic bike events.
