Birth: Jan. 27, 1983
Butte County
California, USA
Death: Dec. 5, 2003
Baghdad, Iraq

Army Spc. Clark was assigned to the 440th Signal Battalion, 22nd Signal Brigade, V Corps, based in Darmstadt, Germany. Clark was killed when his three-vehicle convoy hit an improvised explosive device. Arron attended Oakdale School, an independent-study school in Chico in 2001 and later earned his GED so he could leave high school to enlist in the Army. He wanted to get out of Chico to make something of himself. He was a specialist in protecting the unit from chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. Two years after he joined, he was part of the first invasion wave of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was apprehensive about going to Iraq, but once he saw how the people lived and were treated, he said he understood why he was there. After being in Iraq for some time and seeing all the dead soldiers, Arron was ready to get out of Iraq. He was only a month away from leaving the Middle East and fulfilling one of his childhood dreams; entering the Airborne Ranger training program. Arron was a loving and caring person who was always willing to drop everything for his family. In a final letter home he explained his re-enlistment: "I'm sorry for changing my mind. I had no time to think about it, so I had to jump on it.... This is what I've been waiting for, mom. I love you and I'm doing this for you and the rest of my family. I want you to always be proud of me. Love, Airborne Arron." His military awards include the Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
