Artie M. Bailey, well known farmer in the Jamestown-Lizton locality all his life passed away at his home in Jackson Township, Boone County, on Jan. 6, 1968. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Bailey was born in Hendricks County on Jan. 28, 1887, a son of Marion and Rachel (Young) Bailey. He was married to Nora C. Coombs on Oct. 6, 1906 in Lebanon. He was a member of the Lizton Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kenneth Bailey of Clarks Hill and Earl Bailey of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Neal of near Jamestown and Mrs. Carolyn Pavey of Lizton; a brother, Vesper Bailey of near Jamestown; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. One sister (Luna (Bailey) Pritchett) and a brother (Harry Bailey) preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Walker Funeral Home in Jamestown with burial in the Old Union Cemetery north of Jamestown.
