Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Corporal in the Union Army in Company A, 3d Indiana Cavalry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on April 6, 1865 at Deatonsville (Sailor's Creek), Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of flag." (bio by: Don Morfe)
