Lynn was a direct descendant of John and Betty More's John line. He was the eldest of six children born to Dorothy Dell West Arbuckle. Lynn was raised in many places as his father was career United States Air Force. He had homes at Moses Lake, Washington; San Antonio, Texas; Casablanca, Morocco; Salina, Kansas; and Austin, Texas. Lynn served in the United States Marines from 1973 to 1977. Before that, he was a karate teacher. Lynn was a Survey Technician for Texas Highway Department and was a resident of Austin at the time of his death. He had gone to Corpus Christi, Texas for the Memorial Day weekend and was camping at a public park at that place. As he slept, he was attacked by an unknown assailant and stabbed. Lynn was able to get himself to the nearest hospital but died the following day. At the time of his death, he was survived by his parents and four siblings. Lynn had never married.
