POPE - Leslie Ross Pitcock, 19, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, on I-55 south of Pope as the result of an automobile accident. She was born July 22, 1986, in Oxford to Jim and Linda Clay Bryan Pitcock. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batesville. She was a junior at Ole Miss. She graduated from Senatobia City School in 2003, where she was an honor student. She was a Lott Leadership Scholar and also a Chandler Leadership Scholar at Ole Miss. She was an artist and wanted to be a "bigtime artist" in New York City. She played first base for the Batesville Blaze ASA 14 and under softball team, which her father coached. The team placed second in the Mississippi State Tournament in 2000. She'll be remembered as a sweet, sweet girl.
Survivors include her parents, Jim and Linda Clay Bryan Pitcock of Pope; her grandparents, Alta Jo Cook Bryan of Taylor and Cecil and Mae Bell Pitcock of Pope; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Johnston and the Rev. Annette Fort officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
