Burial: 28 August 1891—Age: 36y 5m—Cause of death: Gastro Entritis

"Died
At her home 57 May street, Wednesday evening at eight o'clock, of hemarrhage [sic] of the bowels, Mrs. Celia, wife of E. D. Briggs, aged 36 years. Funeral Friday afternoon at the house. Mrs. Briggs had been in poor health for several years." - Aurora Daily Express, Aug. 27, 1891

Egbert D Briggs was the son of Zena C. Briggs (born about 1822) and Persilla R [Vaill? or Mosher](born about 1825). The family was living in Hyde Park, Dutchess Co., NY in 1865.

Celia appears to be the daughter of Everit Knickerbocker, and Phoebe Ann (nee Ketchum??) who died in 1858. She was living with Delilah Ketchum, a widow born about 1800, from 1860 to 1875 in New York City and Poughkeepsie. In 1875 Celia is listed as Delilah's granddaughter. Everit was a son of Peter Knickerbocker (#76017100) and Jane Montrose (#76016856); other children include William, whose family is buried at West Aurora, and Hiram (#116477300), who is buried at Spring Lake Cemetery.
