County Treasurer Died Monday at His Home; Was Serving Fourth Term
Funeral services for County Treasurer Willard Reece will be conducted today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. at the Savannah Baptist Church. Rev. J. Fred Presley, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in the Savannah Cemetery in charge of the Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home.
James Willard Reece, 57, suffered a fatal heart attack Monday evening at his home a mile southwest of Savannah. He was a life long resident of Andrew County and a member of the Savannah Baptist Church.
Mr. Reece had begun his fourth term as treasurer of Andrew County. He was elected to his fourth term last November.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Allie Reece, of the home and a son, Joe Reece, also of Savannah. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Ruoff, Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers, Dr. Roy Reece, Savannah; Darl Reece, St. Joseph and Lloyd Reece, Mount Vernon, MO.; three sisters, Mrs. John Kennedy, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Pearl Russell and Miss Margaret Reece, both of St. Joseph and a grandchild.
