Everett was born in Knob Noster, Missouri, the son of Clinton B. and Nancy E. Tevis Martin. He married Edna Christina Sophia Ficken on December 22, 1928 at Sedalia, Missouri.

He lived most of his life in Sedalia and early in life he engaged in farming. At the time of his reirement in 1969 he had been employed by the Missouri State Highway Department for 25 years.

Everett was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sedalia, Missouri.

His Funeral was held at the Ewing Funeral Home in Sedalia with Rev. Charles Hendrickson, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Pallbearers were: Dennis L. miesner, Douglas G. Miesner, John F. Martin, Jr., Walter E. Rogers, Jr., Kenneth L. Bruns and Thomas D. Martin.
