Gene Limb age 77, passed this life on Sunday May 27, 2012 at his home in Wagoner. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma on June 3, 1934 to Lena (Boone) and Virgil R. Limb. Gene married Marilyn (Mitchell) in Tulsa, on November 7, 1952 at the Red Fork Baptist Church. Gene served in the U. S. Army from May 1956 to May 1958. He was a devoted minister and loved his work for the Lord. He served many churches in his lifetime from Missouri to Oklahoma, Cedar Grove Baptist, Garland Baptist, Hartwell Baptist, Salina First Baptist, Twin Oaks Baptist, Trinity Baptist in Oktaha and several years as Camp Manager at the Tulakogee Baptist Camp. He loved people and working with the kids at camp. Gene has also worked for Shipman Funeral Home and was considered a part of their family. He fought cancer with courage and determination until it finally defeated his body, though not his spirit. Gene will be remembered for her genuine smile and deep care for others. He had courage and cheerfulness during his fight through it all. His will and determination to hang in there, for his wife and daughter and grandsons whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his Parents. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn of the home, his daughter Kristi Dombrow and her husband Tim of Chicago, IL and two grandsons: Kyle and Alexander Dombrow and one sister Elva Smith of Richland, Missouri, other family members and many dear friends.Services for Gene will be held at 10 am, Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel with officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2980 US 69 Wagoner Oklahoma 74467.
