Robert J. Forrester, 75, Martinsville passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Bloomington Nursing and Rehab Center in Bloomington.

He was born October 2, 1935, in Jefferson City, TN, to the late Robert and Lida Grace (Crooke) Forrester.

He is survived by one daughter, Eva Marie Rutar of Martinsville; two sons, Ron Forrester and wife Mali of Union, KY, and Joseph Forrester of Indianapolis; five brothers, Raymond Forrester and wife Evelyn of Crawfordsville, David Forrester and wife Alice of Martinsville, William H. Forrester and wife Theresa of Martinsville, James Richard Forrester and wife Cathy of Mooresville and John Thomas Forrester and wife Kathy of Martinsville; one sister, Joan Carson of Martinsville; six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death his parents; one daughter, Sherri Forester; two sisters, Wilma Jean Forrester and Florence Littell.

Robert retired in 1997 from Ball Corporation, which was previously Stokley Van Camp prior to Quaker Oats, in 1997 where he was a maintenance mechanic.

He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Gateway Tabernacle, 689 South Crawford Street, Martinsville, IN, 46151 with the Rev. Pat Davis officiating.

Uncle Bob was one of the best guys ever. He was always fun to be around and my kids loved him.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
