Hugh served as a Sergeant, U.S. Army or Army Air Force during World War II.
He resided in Washington County, Vermont prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Vermont National Guard on February 24, 1941 in Northfield, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Filling Station Attendant, Single, without dependents, and also given the immediate rank of Corporal.
Hugh was "Killed In Action" during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
