Memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m Thursday, April 9th, at Hillview United Methodist Church, 8525 Ustick Road, Boise, Idaho, 83714. A private interment will take place at Cloverdale Cemetery.
Alberta was born May 12, 1922, in Paul, Idaho, a daughter of William and Alma Galloway Johnson. She attended schools in Boise, graduating from Franklin High School in 1940. She attended Boise Junior College. She worked at the Umatilla Ordnance Depot in Hermiston, Oregon.
She married her high school sweetheart, V. Scott Brown, on June 23, 1943, in Hermiston at a double wedding ceremony with Bob Johnson and Lillian Denton. While Scott was serving in the U.S. Navy, Alberta traveled with him, working at Greyvan Lines in Chicago, at the Seneca Ordnance Depot in upper New York State and later at the Air Technical Service Command in San Francisco. She returned to Boise to work at Investors Diversified Services for a short time, then to Idaho First National Bank (now US Bank) from which she retired in 1987 with 30+ years of service over a 42-year period.
Alberta was a member of Hillview United Methodist Church, and previously was a member of Whitney United Methodist Church. She was a member of Credit Professionals International for 23 years, being named Credit Woman of the Year with Boise C.W.I. 1982-83. After retirement, she volunteered her services at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include daughter, Linda M. Brown of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Virginia Smith (Mrs. Paul F.) and Sharon Natanson (Mrs. Bentley) of Boise; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; her husband, V. Scott Brown; a brother, William B. Johnson; a sister, Lois Ward; several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
