Margaret Mary Ennis was born on the 25th of May 1879, to parents Daniel and Margaret (nee Rochford) Ennis, of Parish Tagoat, Diocese of Ferns, County Wexford, Ireland.

According to data revealed in Ireland, Catholic Parish Baptisms, 1742-1881, Margaret Mary was baptized the same day she had been born, 25 May 1879. Her childhood years were spent in Tagoat, however, as a young woman she had migrated to England and was employed by a private family.

In the year 1905, she immigrated to America, departing from Liverpool, England, aboard the ship "Baltic", bound for Ellis Island, New York, New York. She reportedly was of Irish Nationality, and it was reported that she was 25 years old. According to the List or Manifest of Alien Passengers for the U.S. Immigration Officer at Port of Arrival, Margaret Mary (aka "Maggie") was to meet James Reilly, of South Omaha, Nebraska. It is thought that Margaret had met James during one of his business trips to England. It is believed that Margaret and James were married on Ellis Island as rules had prohibited unaccompanied single women to leave Immigration alone. Many marriages took place on the spot, due to this rule!

James and Margaret had been married 5 years, according to information found on their 1910 United States Federal Census. James was 38 years old, and "Maggie", 31. They were parents of four children, all of whom had been born in Omaha, Nebraska. Their children were: James T., age 4; the twins, Margaret and Mary, age 2; and Agnes L., age 4 months.
Maggie's sisters, Kate and Anna M. Ennis, who had come to visit James and Margaret, decided to remain in America. Anna, "Maggie's" youngest sister, was living with James and Margaret, during this census enumeration. The family resided a 2513 "A" Street, South Omaha, Nebraska.

By 1920, the family had grown in size from 4 children to 8! The family home was located at 2719 South 20th Street, in Omaha, Nebraska. It is said by those who knew the Reilly children that they enjoyed playing pranks on unsuspecting people, and no doubt did just that when asked by the enumerator, recording the 1920 U.S. Census "Where were your parents born?" Their answers were their father had been born in "IOWA", their mother, in "ENGLAND", and that Margaret's father had been born in "FRANCE", and Margaret's mother, in "GERMANY"! Quite an International family, indeed, but far from the truth ... as their father and mother had both been born in Ireland, as had both sets of their parents, parents.

Sadly, Margaret Reilly's beloved husband, James Joseph died on 02 September 1925. His untimely death threw the family into a financial crisis, which forced Margaret Mary to place her two youngest boys into a Catholic orphanage, for a year. The four oldest children, found jobs to help support the family, during this difficult financial time. Margaret Mary also worked, while struggling to hold her large family together.

Margaret Mary had been a widow for the past 5 years when the 1930 United States Census was enumerated. The family was still living at 2719 South 20th Street. Although the years had been difficult following the death of James Joseph, the family survived, and were reunited.

Four of the five older children eventually married and moved on to raise families of their own. One of the twins, Mary, remained in Omaha. She and her mother later moved to 3104 Valley Street,in Omaha. Mary continued working for the telephone company, in Omaha. Later, following the death of her mother (Margaret Mary), daughter Mary would relocate to San Francisco, California.

Margaret Mary (nee Ennis) Reilly, whose life began in Tagoat, County Wexford, Ireland, ended at St. Joseph's Hospital, in Omaha, Nebraska, on the 13th of March 1936. Margaret Mary (nee Ennis) Reilly, was buried on March 16, 1936, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, next to her husband James Joseph Reilly.
