MARY ELLEN COBLE
Father-George Washington Coble 1862-1924
Mother-Elizabeth Esther Matcham 1876-1969
Spouse-James Manual Shaw 1900-1957

Mary has black eyes and almost black hair. She is 5'411 tall. As a child she was always reading. She had a great fondness for history especially the Civil War period and the migration to the west--hence genealogy.
Mary is also very adept with the needle, and her main hobby is crocheting. She won 2nd. Prize at the State Fair for her bed spread. She made fine edgings on handkerchiefs and countless -doilies, some she sold but most she gave away.
After she was married they lived in Boise for a few years and then moved to Portland, Oregon for two years then back to Boise. The years when the children, were small were spent on-the farm. They rented a farm and raised dairy cattle, sold the milk to the creamery. There she learned all the joys and sorrows of farming and how easy it is for an old cow to kick you heels over head if you are not careful. She was a member of PTA and the Valleyview Grange. After they quit farming, they moved back to Boise for a few years and then moved to Spokane, Wash., she lived there for five years. Her husband had a heart attack and passed away. She then moved back to Boise. She lived there for a short time and then moved to Pennsylvania to be with her daughter and family and make her home there.
