Einar Folden Services Held At Newfolden

Funeral services for Einar Folden, 86, of Newfolden were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran church in Newfolden. Folden died Saturday evening at the McIntosh Manor at McIntosh.

Rev. Hans Floan and Rev. Raynard Huglen officiated at the services. Mrs. Carroll Lindstrom was the organist and the Ladies Group provided the vocal selections. Interment was in the Folden cemetery with military honors accorded by the Newfolden American Legion post. The Green Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers were Harvey Dyrud, Clareng Lund, Ben Nelson, Oscar Rokke, Norman Folden and Bergman Folden.

Active pallbearers were Freeman Hiaason, Wallace C. Johnson, Morris Hansen, Leslie Folden, Melvin Mattson and LeRoy Knutson.

Einar Folden was born Jan. 3, 1892 in New Folden township, Marshall county, to Hans and Karen Folden, now deceased. He attended school and grew to manhood in that community.

Folden was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was employed for a number of years in Duluth. In the late 30s he returned to the Newfolden community, living in New Folden township until 1967 when he moved into the village of Newfolden. Since 1976, he had made his home at McIntosh.

Surviving are two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers. Thief River Falls Times, Wednesday, October 4, 1978
