Carol Ann Slater, 59, Overland Park, Kansas, died on March 31, 1997, at her home. Funeral services were at 5p.m., Thursday, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Cremation followed services. Friends called from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions were made to the American Cancer Society, 5960 Dearborn, Suite 100, Mission, KS. 66202.
Carol was born on March 28, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Harold Berton and Effie LaVernon (Hunt) Crowley. She lived in the greater K. C. area her whole life. She graduated from Southeast High School in 1956. Carol loved to sing and tap dance and belonged to several dance groups. She was also active with the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed square dancing and belonged to the Shooting Stars and several other clubs. Carol was a member of Unity Church of Overland Park. Survivors include her mother, LaVernon Crowley, Belton,Mo.; Her husband of 40 years, John Slater, of the home; a son and his wife of Stilwell,KS; a daughter of Lenexa, KS. and four Grandchildren. Carol was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, And Grandmother. She is greatly missed by her family and many friends.
