Joseph Emmett "J.E." or "Joe" Bishop, III, 81, of Disputanta passed away peacefully Sunday, September 25, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Joseph Emmett Bishop, Jr. and Dorothy Livesay Bishop. Joseph retired from Firestone after 37 years of employment and his passion for farming showed by the many hours spent on a tractor. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Disputanta as well as the founder and member of Bishop Hunt Club.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Jean Gay Bishop; his daughters, Pamela B. Lascheck of Peoria, AZ, Donna B. Wright (Irving) of Disputanta and Wanda B. Guridy (Duane) of Disputanta; grandchildren, Casey Hylton, Rachel Hoyle, Joseph Wright, Elijah Wright and Dakota Saunders; and great-grandchildren, Emma Hylton and the twins, Robert and James Hoyle.
A Celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Disputanta Ruritan Club from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trinity U.M.C., P.O.
