John was baptized 19 Feb 1833 in Cliptson, so calculated birth year (1875 - 41y and 9mo = Feb 1834) on his grave marker is incorrect.

Son of David & Mary (Wallis) Buswell. Husband of Clara (WILFORD) BUSWELL. John & Clara were married at Clipston Church, Cliptston, Northamptonshire, England on 12 Jun 1854. The couple arrived in New York on 29 Aug 1854 aboard the ship Cynosure sailing from Liverpool, England.

After coming to the USA, they first lived in Amherst, Lorain Co., OH, where they had relatives living. The Buswell, Wilford and Medbourn(e) families migrated at about the same time from the area of Clipston, England, first to Lorain County, Ohio in about 1854 and then to Marmont (Culver) in about 1867.

John served in the Civil War, Company D, 178th Regiment, Ohio Infantry.

By 1868, they had moved to Culver.

Known children of the couple were Wallce T, Roseline, John D, Samuel G, and Alice B.
