The owner and operator of Atkins Grocery and Market at 4510 Elysian St., was shot to death with her own Shot gun which she kept for her protection. Mrs. Cecelia Atkins who lived by herself in the back of the store, was found shot to death after a neighbor came to call. Robbery is believed to be the motive.
Surviving family members are: Daughters, Mrs. Ann West, Mrs. Sallie Battarbee, both of Houston; sisters, Mrs. Pauline Black, Mrs. Winnie Earp, and four grand-daughters.
