PARENTS: Mr. Willie Pickett and Mrs. Minnie Lee Pickett: (Both Deceased)
PARENTS: Mrs. Ora Lee Carr and the late Mr. Thurman Herring.
"Mommy-Ann" as she was affectionately called by all who loved and knew her was blessed with two sets of parents. Mommy-Ann spent her early childhood in North Carolina and relocated to Baltimore, Maryland with her family. Mommy-Ann was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Mammy-Ann later met and married the late Edward Lee Faulkner Jr. Their union was blessed with four children. In 1985, Mommy-Ann met her long time companion, Charles Otis Dingle Jr. or as family and friends know him as "Charlie". Mommy-Ann enjoyed playing cards, going to the Markets, shopping and listening to Oldies but Goodies with "Charlie". In 1985, Mommy-Ann welcomed and later adopted her youngest son~ Sandy.
Mommy-Ann's big heart also extended toward her Community. Deeply dedicated to helping others in the Flag-House Projects Community for forty-eight years as an Activist. Mommy-Ann served on various Community Action Boards; The Resident Advisory Board under The Housing Authority of Baltimore City and Albemarle Square Tenant Council. Mommy-Ann was a Volunteer for the Baltimore City Public Schools System and she Volunteered at The Summer Lunch Program. Mommy-Ann received several Certificates for her outstanding Commitments. Mommy-Ann was a Notary Public for twenty-five years. She was a loving Foster Parent for over thirty years, Mommy-Ann touched the lives of many children. Mommy-Ann was indeed a "Jack of All Trades".
Mommy-Ann was a extremely loving and devoted mother to her children. Mommy-Ann would gather all her children together for family dinners. Mommy-Ann enjoyed eating steamed crabs from Mo,s, spending money and sitting outside in her yard and talking with family and neighbors. Mommy-Ann made numerous of friends wherever she went and Mommy-Ann will be sincerely missed by all who loved and knew her.
On Saturday, January 22,2011 after a lengthy illness, God quietly called our beloved Mommy-Ann into His Heavenly Home. Mommy-Ann leaves to cherish her everlasting memories: her mother~ Mrs. Ora Lee Carr; her longtime companion~ Mr. Charles O. Dingle Jr.; five children~ Mrs. Felicia Peaches Brooks, Mrs. Bridget Friends-Gross, Mrs. Carolina Brooks; Mr. Edward Faulkner the third and Sandy Hinton Jr.: four sons-in-law~ Mr. Micheal Brooks, Mr. Larontay Gross, Mr. John Brooks and Leroy Friends; five grandchildren~ Kristal, Reginald, Amy, Kelly and Edward; six great-grandchildren, Mahari, Ian, Mehcad, Kamari, Riley and Kelsie; Sisters and brothers~ Mr. James Henry, Mrs. Gwendolyn Moore, Mr. Willie Pickett Jr., Mrs. Glendolyn Pickett, Mr. Joseph Pickett, Mrs. Sandra Hayes, Mrs. Anne Gibson, Mrs. Brenda Able and Mrs. Linda Johnson; a very special cousin~ Steve Herring; dedicated friends~ June Bug and Ianthony; long term friends~ Jean, Valerie and Vernell; her extended children~ June, Pamela, Robin and Kim; a host of other relatives and friends.
