CLAUDIE C (TEDFORD) LOWE
Claudie C was born to Claude Casey and Cora Etta (Card) Tedford in Birdie, MS on January 28, 1923.
She spent her childhood in Darling, MS and attended school there. Among other interests, she participated in tap dance class and basketball. She was a truly beautiful girl. Though not actually a redhead, her nickname was "Little Red."
Her older siblings were Toy Abram Tedford; Jimmy Faye Tedford (Malone), and Vertie B Tedford (Brown).
She married Harrell (Harold) Alwyn Lowe on March 9, 1942 and they had five children: William Alwyn (1943); Carol Ann (1947); Cora Lynn (1950); Walter David (1954), and Joel Tedford (1955).
Claudie leaves grandchildren: Teresa, Angela, Gwen, Jon, Michael, Ethan, Emily, Joseph and great grandchildren: Abby, Zach, Nick, Mary-Autumn and Tommy.
Her childhood pets were three dogs: Jiggs, Skippy and Fanny. Throughout her life, she always had a dog.
Claudie's main occupation over the years was Bookkeeper, and she was a valued employee by all who hired her. When she wasn't working, she was putting up vegetables from the family's organic garden and collecting very primitive objects from furniture to pottery. The more history the old items seemed to have, the better she loved them as she was a true lover of history. She enjoyed placing the objects around her home and using them in decorating for the various holidays.
Claudie was a truly humble and generous person, and she helped out many people over the years. She was always there when anyone needed her. She never let anyone leave her home empty-handed. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church where she gave freely of her time and meager income.
She remained interested in life until the fall on June 16, 2005 that broke her hip and, ultimately, resulted in her death on September 18, 2005. She is missed and remembered with love and fondness by many.
