Richard was the son of Margaret Ann Davis Drury and Andrew J. Drury. He died before 1868 since he did not inherit on his behalf of his mother's part of the estate of her brother Pvt. Frederick Davis. His sister Mary Ann Drury inherited her mother's portion as the only living heir of Margaret Ann Davis Drury.
