Funeral services for Vester W Franks, age 69, were held Thursday, September 10 at Parkway Baptist Church. Burial was in Chickasaw Memorial Garden with Brother James Cannon and Brother Terry Burnside officiating. Mr. Franks died Tuesday, September 8 at Houston Community Hospital.
The son of the late Morris Franks and Mrs. Lizzie Finn Franks, he was a retired employee of Natchez Trace Electric Power Association. He was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, the late Mrs. Mary Vivian Franks.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mamie F Neal of Houston; his mother, Mrs. Lizzie F Franks of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Olivia Brown of Houston and Mrs. Lillie Nichols of Starkville; one brother, Priest Franks of Houston; four grandchildren and one great grandson.
Pallbearers were Albert Horn, Leon Martin, James R Thomas, Billy King, Larry Abrams and Dr. Charles Simpson. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Natchez Trace Electric Power Association.
Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
