Judge Churchill Humphrey (Annapolis 1907)(UVa. Law 1911) lived at "Ridgeway" built in 1817, considered to be the finest Federal-style residence in Kentucky, now 4095 Massie Avenue, Louisville. He was an attorney, judge of the circuit court in Louisville, 1933-43, served as a Navy lieutenant in WWI and was a lt. commander (USNR). He sailed with the Great White Fleet which President Theodore Roosevelt sent around the world. He was an airplane pilot and sailed a 45" yacht alone from Ft. Lauderdale to Louisville in 1930.
