L.P. Dawson, 82, Dies Suddenly at Daughter's Home

LeMoine Painter Dawson, 82, died suddenly Saturday morning in Swan Valley where he was visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Curtis.

A resident of Bonneville county for the past 38 years, Mr. Dawson was engaged in farming until 1914 when they moved into Idaho Falls where they have resided since.

Mr. Dawson was born Jan. 2, 1866 in Henderson county, Ill., the son of James Oliver and Lucy [Lacy] Ann Dawson. He received his education in Illinois and on August 27, 1890 he was married to Mary Finch at Terre Haute, Ill. They lived there until 1907 when they moved to South Dakota. From there they came to Idaho Falls in the spring of 1910 where he engaged in farming.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Dawson, 243 North Ridge avenue; by five sons and daughters, Paul Dawson, Idaho Falls; Wendell Dawson, Ketchikan, Alaska; Oliver Dawson, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Amos Curtis, Swan Valley and Mrs. Amy Marshall, San Francisco; nine grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. C. K. Todd, Laarpe [LaHarpe], Ill. A son and a daughter preceded him in death.

The body is at the Wood Funeral home. Services are pending word from relatives.
