United States Senator. He was an Anti-Jackson Senator from Maryland. He served in the US Senate from 1826 to 1834. He commanded a company of militia at The Battle of Caulk's Field, August 31, 1814, during the War of 1812. Besides being a US Senator, he was Brigadier General of the Maryland Line, Maryland Senator, 1822, Chief Judge of the 2nd Judicial District and Judge Maryland Court of Appeals, 1834 to 1851.Chambers was graduated from Washington College at Chestertown in 1805. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1808. He was a slave owner.
