Revoluntionary War Continental Marine Officer. He served as a Captain in the Continental Marines during the Revolutionary War. In 1776 he was the captain of the privateer "Hancock". During the Winter Campaign of 1776-1777, he was detached from his ship and served with George Washington's army operating in New Jersey. He was killed in action at the Battle of Princeton.
