Yoby Angaline Southard, 74, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, in her Mount Vernon home. Arrangements with Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. Surviving Yoby are her son, Larry Dale Southard, of Honolulu, Hawaii; two brothers, of Lisbon and of Sunset, Texas; and a sister, of Lisbon. Yoby was the daughter of Guy Ivy Holly (1912-2005) and Molly Bernice Hamrick (1915-1974). She was married to Dale Roscoe Southard (1930-2012) residing in Pampa, Texas, Ervin Eugene "Buck" Lavake (1928 – 2001) residing in White Deer, Texas and then to Bobby Eugene Hawkins (1934 – 2001) residing in Kress, Texas. Dale, her first husband, was the son of William Southard (1891-1978) and Flossie Maize Hite (1893-1968). Of their six children, only one son, Larry Dale, survives them. They were preceded in death by:

Ricky Dae Southard (1953-1953)
Rocky Zand Southard (1955-1955)
Robbie Ann Southard (1956-1956)
Rodney Dan Southard (1958-1958)
Monte Dru Southard (1963-1968)

Yoby was a Mother whose world revolved around her boys...after Monte died, her world was Larry. Raising this one boy was her most fulfilling project. All her ideas, aspirations, ambitions, values, hopes and dreams were invested in him as he grew to be the man she was so proud of--that brought her such joy.

She was a loving, nurturing Aunt who loved her niece, like a Mom, kept secrets like a sister, imparted wisdom like a teacher and was a true friend. She had a sense of humor (sometimes wicked) and was never at a loss for words. Her beautiful smile, twinkling eyes, and loving arms are tremendously missed.
