Edward Cobb, Bloomington, IN, passed away Thursday, May 1, 1997, at the Bloomington Convalescent Center. Born May 8, 1926, he was the son of Henry and Ollie (Childers) Cobb. On December 24, 1948, he married Jean Staley.

He was retired from RCA and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local of Bloomington and a veteran of WW II, serving with the U.S. Army. He was of Protestant Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kathie Rose (in infancy) and two brothers, Arthur and Perry Cobb. He is survived by his wife, Jean of Bloomington; one son, Edward Cobb of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Dana Cobb of Sullivan, IN, and Daniel Cobb of Bloomington; two sisters, Maggie Jones of Bedford and Marie Fields of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and four brothers, Stanley Cobb and Matt Cobb, both of Bedford, Leonard Cobb of Springville, IN, and Claude Cobb of Mooresville, IN.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 5, at The Day & Carter Mortuary with the Revs. Ken Ransom and Phillip Thorne officiating. Friends may call from 2-8 PM on Sunday, May 4, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service on Monday, May 5, at the Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Community Church of The Pulmonary Cardiac Rehab Center of Bloomington Hospital. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca, IN. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of American Legion Gillen Post #33 of Bedford.
