New Brunswick, Canada
Sarah was born about 1791 based on her age at the time of the 1850 Census (59 years). She was the daughter of David Bloomfield and Patience Wayland. She married Edward DeField (as his second wife) by 1812.
She is cited for her bravery in June 1813, when she saved Lt. FitzGibbons during a struggle with two raiding American soldiers in Queenston (Niagara), ON. This act of heroism was later remembered at the time her son David was convicted and sentenced to death for his participation in the Battle of Windmill Point in November 1838.
She was not listed with family in the 1860 Census, so probably died by then.
