Daughter of Ludern Ketchum (buried as Lewis) & Effie Belle Rood Ketchum .

Helen was born in Michigan and following the divorce of her parents, lived for a time in an orphanage in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her grandparents, Wires Ketchum and Louisa Richardson Ketchum took her and her siblings from the orphanage and the children lived for a time on their farm in Ashton, Osceola County, Michigan. Her mother Effie Belle Rood settled in Reed City, Osceola County, Michigan. Her father Ludern worked for the railroad and was living in Utah when he sent for the children. Helen went to Utah, where she met John Delbert Fullmer .
and married him in Feb. 1925. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. One daughter, Valetta Fullmer Brooks preceded her in death.

Helen often shared stories of Michigan with her children and told of how green everything was, which was in contrast to the landscape in Utah. She told of going to Lake Michigan and how big it was.

Memories of Helen Grace Ketchum Fullmer were shared with me by her son, Owen during one of the times they came to Michigan for a visit.
