Clyde M. Phelps, 76, died Friday, April 14 following a short illness in the Logan City Hospital.
He was born January 21, 1902, in St. Charles, to Walter G. and Ella Phelps. He was a member of the LDS Church and was active in the military service in the early 1920s.
He married Lillian Hayes Bacon January 9, 1928, in Paris. She died April 9, 1977.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Dayton (Gay) Dimick, Montpelier; two sons, Kyle H., Montpelier, and Dean R., stationed at March Air Force Base, Sunnymead, Calif.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Avanelle Bassett, Long Beach, Calif.
Three brothers, including a twin, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the Montpelier Second Ward at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18 with David Gerber conducting.
Leland Hayes offered the family prayer and Renee Bird played the prelude and postlude music.
“I Know That My Redeemer Lives” and “Sometime We’ll Understand” were sung by the Second Ward Choir.
Offering the invocation was Richard Burgoyne and the obituary was given by Bud Sneddon.
Ruth Kay Andersen sang “Silver Haired Daddy Of Mine”.
Speaking at the services was Wesley Williams. Raymond Dimick offered the benediction.
The flowers were under the direction of the Second Ward Relief Society.
Pallbearers included Al Dimick, Corey Dimick, Weston Hayes, Rusty Dimick, Bill Salveson and Earl Wuthrich.
The funeral was under the direction of Matthews Mortuary.
