Alvia Lee (Al) Copeland, Sr., 67, of Chillicothe MO passed away January 5, 2015 at Livingston Manor Care Center in Chillicothe.
Al Copeland Sr. was born October 23, 1947 in Harrison, Arkansas, the son of Ray Copeland and Della Faye Wilson Copeland. He was a graduate of El Paso High School in El Paso, Illinois.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic and worked for several years at Cooks Sales and Service in Chillicothe, and also worked at Mid Am in Chillicothe.
On May 15, 1966 Al married Brenda S. Wright in Eureka, Illinois. She survives of the home.
Al was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Chillicothe MO. He was a Boy Scout Master, Webelos Leader and he was a Fire and Safety trainer. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; 2 sons, Alvia, Jr. of Tuscumbia AL and Christopher and wife Cindy of Gravity IA; 2 adopted granddaughters, Heather Copeland and life partner Jacob Holtzclaw of Chillicothe and Colby Jackson and husband Robert of Chillicothe; daughter-in-law, Danielle Copeland of Plattsmouth, NE; 4 Grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; three brothers, Everett, Wayne, and Sonny Copeland; a sister, Betty Gibson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Faye (Wilson) Copeland; son, Michael Ray in 2002 and an infant son Kenneth Everett and a brother, Bill Copeland.
