Lola Barrett
March 21, 1906 to Dec. 6, 1997

Lola Barrett, 91, of Nevada, died Saturday, Dec. 6, of pneumonia at the Rolling Green Village in Nevada where she had been residing.

She was born March 21, 1906, near Polk City to Reuben and Mary Boda Sutter. She attended Madison Township #6 country school.

On Dec. 5, 1923, she married Milo Barrett in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and farmwife. She and her husband moved to Nevada in March of 1970. She worked for several years at Mary Greeley Medical Center, and she was a member of the Nevada Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Milo of Nevada; a daughters Aliene (and Arthur) Mally of Lake City; three sons, the Rev. Lionel (and Dorothy) Barrett of Rapid City, S. D., Robert (and Mariam) Barrett of Peoria, Ariz., and Dale (and Kathleen) Barrett of Polk City; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Colin Ostlie; two brothers, Raymond Sutter and Harold Sutter; and four sisters, Gladys Sutter, Hazel Sutter, Grace Gimericher and Pearl Crabtree.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Bacon-Cooper Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Dennis Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Nevada Baptist Church.
