|Birth: ||Feb. 2, 1627, Sweden|
|Death: ||Nov. 20, 1700, Estonia|
Captain Hans Christoffer von Rohr (1627-1700) was a soldier for the Swedish Empire who was killed in action during the Great Northern War in the Battle of Narva. (b. February 2, 1626/1627; Swedish Empire - d. November 20, 1700; Killed in Action, Battle of Narva, Narva, Estonia)
He was a descendant of Georg von Rohr (1550-1632) and Margareta von Fleeten (1599-1655).
He most likely had children with two wives. Mrs. Hans Christoffer Von Rohr I (c1620-c1670). She would have had children starting at age 18 in 1648, and ended when she died around 1870, where there is a gap in the children. His second wife, Mrs. Hans Christoffer Von Rohr II (c1660-c1685) would have had children starting around age 18 in 1678. She was most likely Anna Catharina Cronman II (c1660-c1685). The possibility also exists his first wife was Anna Katharina Cronman I (c1620-c1670) and that both wives had the same name, leading to the confusion.
Lieutenant Colonel Joachim Von Rohr (1677-1757) the Commander of Dalarö who married Catharina Charlotta Klingenberg (1680-1758) on February 04, 1699/00 in Sweden; Maria Elizabeth Von Rohr (1679-1710) who died during the plague epidemic at age 29; Sofia Anna Von Rohr (1680-1686) who died as a youth; Anna Catharina Von Rohr (1682-1715); Hans Christoffer Von Rohr II (1684-1754) who married Helena Catharina Von Spandekow (1691-1748) on August 10, 1711 in Klinov, Russia.
Battle of Narva:
Wikipedia: "The Battle of Narva on 19 November 1700 (30 November, N.S.) was an early battle in the Great Northern War. A Swedish relief army under Charles XII of Sweden defeated a Russian siege force three to four times its size. Before, Charles XII had forced Denmark-Norway to sign the Treaty of Travendal. Narva was not followed by further advances of the Swedish army into Russia, instead, Charles XII turned southward to expel August the Strong from Livonia and Poland-Lithuania. Peter the Great took Narva in a second battle in 1704."
He died on November 20, 1700 when he was killed in action, Battle of Narva, Narva, Estonia
There are some inconsistencies with the dates for his birth and his marriage, and more work will have to be done on him. There are also problems with his parents and their births. Perhaps a generation or two in between is missing or two people with the same name from different generations are being confused.
