Rickie Kay Weighous, 62, of Great Bend, died May 24 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born Oct. 3, 1947, at Great Bend, the daughter of Richard and Janet (Holland) Rowley. She worked for three years in maintenance for Wal-Mart. Rickie was a lifetime Great Bend resident, also living in Dodge City and Wichita for a short time. She attended school in Great Bend until graduation. She loved fishing, gardening, animals and woodworking. For a number of years, she worked for a feedlot in Great Bend and drove trucks and school buses.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Janet and Ervin Neighbors, Great Bend; one daughter, Rickie Eslick of Logan, N.M.; four sisters, Sherrie Holmes of Winfield, Sheila Smith and Sue Gruber, both of Grat Bend, and Tamra Downs of Augusta; and a granddaughter, Destiny Bolin. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Rowley.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with Pastor Don Paden officiant. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery.
