One of at least eight children of Liza Keeler and Noah F. Flood. His siblings included: Annie Mae, Ellis, Henry, Elren Virginia, Arthur, and Verdie.

In 1920, he was living with his parents and siblings on a farm they were renting in Clear Creek, Arkansas (Sevier County). The household included: Noah F., age 60, born in Missouri of Ohio parents; Liza, age 36, born in Texas of Tennessee parents; Annie M., age 13, born in Oklahoma; Elsworth, age 8, born in Oklahoma; Ellis, age 6, born in Arkansas; Ellen, age 6, born in Arkansas; Henry, age 3, born in Arkansas, and Elreen, age 9/12 born in Arkansas. His mother's brother, Willie Keeler, age 29, was living with them.

By 1930, they were farming in Eagle, Oklahoma (McCurtain County). He and his two oldest brothers were helping their father work the farm. The household included: Noah, age 59, married at age 33; Liza, age 44, married at 17; Elven, age 17; Ellis age 15; Henry, age 12; Elrene, age 10; Verdie, age 8; and Alva Helton, age 15, a boarder.

By 1940, his father had died and Elven was no longer living with the family. His mother and brothers were living in Eagle, McCurtain County, Oklahoma. The household included: Eliza Flood, age 55, widowed, born in Texas; Ellis, age 25, born in Arkansas, farming; Henry, age 21, born in Arkansas, farm laborer; and Virtis, age 18, born in Oklahoma, farm laborer. Elven was living with his mother's brother, William Keeler and his wife Gertrude Lemaster Keeler. Their three daughters were also in the household, Billie J, Billie J Seals) age 9; Darla J, (Mary Joyce Baker) age 8; and Edna E, (Edna Cotton) age 7.

Services for Elven E. Flood, 55, of Lexington, who died Sunday in his home, will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Primrose Funeral Home with burial in Lexington Cemetery.

Flood was born in the Goodwater Community and moved to Lexington about a year ago from Broken Bow. He was a contractor and builder and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lexington.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude, of the home; a son, Elven N., McAlester; three step-daughters, Mrs. George D. Seals, 2940 SW 49; Mrs. Dan E. Nusz, 2116 SW 26; and Mrs. W.G. Smith, Wanette; a sister, Mrs. May Menasco, Galveston, Texas; and four brothers, Arthur, Broken Bow; Vertes, Medford, Oregon; and Henry and Ellis, both of Redondo Beach, California.

He had numerous grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Elven Flood had been a member of the CCC and had helped build the Beaver's Bend recreational area.
