19 year old Andrew served with McRaes Regiment, CO. E 15th Arkansas (North West) Infantry, CSA. He died of sickness at Camp Benjamin 2 miles East of Cross Hollow, per his war records. His older bother Wilson McAlister was in the same Company. Location of burial is lost, he could still be there in the area of Camp Benjamin (under the Lake Beaver Waters) like many of the Soldiers.

Andrew is the grandson of William Crawford McAlister,who is buried at Old Lake and the son of Meridith Crawford McAlister who is buried in the 2 grave McAlister cemetery east of Hector,Ar.
