Christina was the daughter of Anton Spath and Anna Maria Strohicker Spath; and sister of Anton Spath Jr, Anna Marie Spath Anthon, Matilda Spath and Edward M. Spath. Her twin sister (Matilda) died shortly after birth. Christina married Olaf Johnson in about 1894. They had three boys that died as infants (Anton and two others). Their daughter was Viola Johnson Pearce Gray (Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Bladensburg, Maryland).

Christina died while she was visiting her daughter's house at 2910 South Dakota Avenue, N.E. Washington, D.C.
