The funeral of L.B. Webster, who died Friday at the Soldiers' home at Bennington, will be held at the Spencer chapel this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. The services will be private but friends may call until 1 o'clock. Roberts post, G.A.R., of which Mr. Webster was a member, will hold ritual services at the chapel. Rev. R.W. Linnell, pastor of the Advent church, of which Mr. Webster was for years an active member, will officiate with burial in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Webster was born at Green Bay, Wis. He enlisted in company F, 14th Wisconsin infantry, and re-enlisted in company H, 58th Illinois infantry, in which he served until the close of the war.
Mr. Webster was employed by the Howe Scale company for nearly 40 years coming to Rutland from Brandon with the company. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. D.H. Lincoln of Hubbardton, a son, Arthur Webster of this city, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

His service as noted in his obituary is in backwards order.

He was a resident of Plano, Kane Co., Illinois when he was mustered in as a Private in the 58th Illinois Infantry, Co. H. on Feb. 7, 1862 at Chicago. At the time of his enlistment he was recorded as being 24 years old. He was discharged for disability on July 8, 1862.

He enlisted on January 1, 1864 as a Private in the 14th Wisconsin Infantry, Co. F. At the time he was a resident of De Pere, Wisconsin. He served until the regiment was mustered out on Oct. 9, 1865 at Mobile, Alabama.
