Ivy Lucelle Garrett-Moore, 88, of Mineral Wells, is now in the loving arms of the LORD. She left behind so many loved ones on May 4, 2013. She went peacefully with her short battle with leukemia.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the Church of God with Rev. Jerrel Tomlin officiating. Burial will be in the Indian Creek Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Ricky Morris, Jay Morris, Randy Morris, Gary Morris, Rocky Taliaferro and Tracy McCloud. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moore was born May 7, 1924, in Bennett, the daughter of Ivory Teed and Lizzie Douglas Garrett. She married Jesse Aden and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1994.
She was known to many as "Ludy." Lucelle worked as a home health caregiver for over 20 years, many of those with Outreach Health Services. She had a very nurturing heart. She also worked until she was 84 years old.
Lucelle had a love for shopping, garage sales and going to Goodwill. She loved children and enjoyed reading to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was truly a blessing in their life. She was a lifetime member of The Church of God and loved the LORD.
Lucelle leaves behind three children: Barbara Matthews and husband, Don, of Alvarado, Larry Moore and wife, Martha, of Alabama, and Susie Pierson and husband, Robert (Bob), of Mineral Wells; sisters: Love Legett, Doris Hardin and Wanda Savage; and brother, Pat Garrett. Fifteen grandchildren including special caregivers and grandchildren, Annette Moore, Wanda Qualls, Janis Taliaferro, Amanda Trevino, Chuck Moore and Larry Don Moore of Mineral Wells. Seventeen Great-grandchildren including those she had a very special bond with, Aden Donivann Moore and Addyson GraciKay Moore, and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Melvin Moore; daughter, Sandra Kay Moore; her parents; grandsons, Kanyon Epperson and Michael Trevino; husband, Jesse Aden Moore; and siblings, Irene Garrett Snow and Raymond Garrett; niece, Lawanna Charlene McCloud.
The family would also like to thank Solaris Hospice and very special caregiver Jodi Burns-Clayton and special friend Lavon Anders of Mineral Wells.
