Mae Lee Ellis, 81, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, February 24, 2011, in Hot Springs.
Born April 22, 1929, in Bearden, Arkansas, to Willie and Audrey Alexander Mills, she was a member of St. Thomas Baptist Church, the Hot Springs Local Singing Group and the Starlite 5 Group. She retired from St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center.
She was predeceased by her parents and five sons, Marilyn, Cecil, William Sr. and Charles Pinckney and Bruce Ellis.
Survivors include her husband, Alvie Lee Ellis Sr.; her children, J. P. McIntosh, Louise (James) Walker, Mary Roberts, Harold (Gloria) Pinckney, Terry (Gwendolyn) Ellis, Alvie Lee Ellis, Jr., all of Hot Springs, Gwen Pinckney, of Little Rock, JoAnn (Lawrence) Spears, of Conway, Arkansas, James McIntosh, of Chicago, Illinois, Angela Ellis, Brenda (Doris) Williams, Evelyn Ellis and Nathan Ellis, all of Richmond, California; one brother, Willie Mills, Jr., of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Earlene Crook, of Hot Springs; 37 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles E. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the church.
