OBITUARY: Services Monday for D. C. Swanson-Funeral services for Donald Childress Swanson, 44, of Porter, Tex. were held Monday morning, July 22, at Rotz Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Robson of the Presbyterian Church, Cottonwood Falls officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Bowers sang accompanied by Mrs. Cecil Rotz, organist. Mr. Swanson was fatally injured in an accident at Nashville, Tenn., on July 18, 1974, while driving a truck for Pre Fab Transit Company of Farmer City, Ill. He was born in Dallas, Tex., on December 28, 1929. They were residing at Porter, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Janet, and his mother, both of Porter, Texas and other relatives. He was the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Carpenter of Cedar Point. Honorary pallbearers were Timothy Carpenter, Todd Carpenter, Galen Carpenter, M. G. Carpenter, Vernon Scott, Terry Scott, Steve Allen, Greg Allen, Ken Pierce. Pallbearers were Gus Carpenter, Jr., Richard Carpenter, Galen Carpenter, Steve Schrader, Jack Starns and Dale Pierce. A military graveside service was held with burial in the Cedar Point cemetery.
