Edwin Milo Bracken has passed away at the age of 88. He served in the Army during World War II at a base in the Caribbean. Ed moved to Elko, NV in 1946 and opened a small grocery that operated successfully on fifth and Silver streets until a fire destroyed a whole city block in the 50s. He then moved to Sparks and worked briefly as a meat cutter. Many will remember Ruby Mountain Packing Co. that he owned until his retirement. Ed dabbled in many other enterprises, keeping busy throughout his retirement years. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elva "Babe" Bracken; stepson, Roger Brensel; grandsons, Kenneth and Robert Brensel; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and also survived by his sister, Thelma Karns of Phoenix, AZ.
