Mrs. Etta L. Armstrong, 90, died at 8:40 a. m. today at the home of her daughter,Mrs. O. B. Swinford, east of Hobbs, following a short illness. A Windfall resident, she
had resided in that community since her marriage.
Last rites are planned at 2 p. m. Friday at Edwards Funeral home in Windfall, where the body will lie
state after 10 a. m. Thursday. Burial will be in Brookside cemetery, Windfall. A native of Metz, in Steuben county, Mrs. Armstrong was born Dec. 9, 1864 to Nicholas and Margaret (Diltz) Repp. Her parents came to this country from Germany in a sailboat. The widow and Benjamin Franklin
Armstrong were married in 1888. His death occurred Feb. 24,
1899. Mrs. Armstrong, who had made her home with her children the past year, was a member of Windfall Methodist church. Survivors include two sons, William, of Windfall, and Olen, near Kokomo; four daughters, Mrs. Mabel Rosier, near Greentown, Mrs. Opal Legg and Mrs. Beulah Frey, near Windfall, and Mrs. Swinford. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lou Weaver, 93, at Galveston rest home, and Mrs. Melissa B. Smith; 77, near Butler; 14 grandchildren;
29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
