Clelin O. Donoho, 82, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001, in Clayton, New Mexico.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am. Saturday, January 20, in the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, with Reverend Ed Murphy, pastor of the Clayton Church of God, and Reverend Bob Boyd, pastor, officiating; Burial was in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Clelin O. Donoho was born June 16, 1918, at Sedan, New Mexico, to Amos Overton Donoho and Sarah Louella Baker Donoho. He attended school at Sedan, and Clayton, and was a 1936 graduate of Clayton High School. Clelin attended Eastern New Mexico University at Portales, and New Mexico Highlands University at Las Vegas, where he received his degree in Education.
A junior high math teacher for 33 years, Clelin taught in Sedan, Des Moines, and Magdalena, New Mexico, before he returned to Clayton, where he taught in the Clayton Schools until he retired in 1969.
He married Dorothy Dee Martin on January 19, 1946, in Socorro, New Mexico. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Amos Coen Donoho and Hardy Donoho, and by two sisters, Versie Cantrell and Hazel D. Lewis.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy of Clayton; five nephews, Jack Lewis of Tucumcari, Bob Donoho of Denver, Colorado, and Jim Donoho, Keith Donoho and Don Donoho, all of Missouri; a niece, Glenna Paddack of Maderia, California; a sister-in-law, Nettie Bradley of Alamogordo; and his very special friends that were more like family, Julian and Colleen Gutierrez and their family.
